Bittersweet

It is a bittersweet time in our household right now. My husband is a CIS Vanier Cup champion! I am proud beyond words of this man:

It isn't hard to be proud when this is what is being said about him and the men he plays alongside:

The Bisons offensive line won the war in the trenches, and it was a determining factor in the outcome.

"Those guys don't get a lot of credit because they don't score touchdowns or run with the ball but, without them, we can't do anything," said Lowen. "They did a great job.

"Any yards I got, it's because of the O-line. They did all the hard work in the trenches."

As proud as I am of him of him for this accomplishment, I am even prouder of him for another reason. I'll give you all a bit of background. Football is Trevor's first love. It has been a huge part of his life for many years(about 13 if my calculations are right).
And this man, who loves this sport SO much is giving it up for this:
And so, things are a little bittersweet here. On the one hand he has achieved a dream. On the other hand, he is done living that dream. In the midst of these bittersweet feelings, is a huge amount of frustration. After agonizing over making this decision, this wonderful man is getting flack about giving up football and the schooling that came with it. He's a drywaller, and was just going to school to play football. He doesn't need a university education to do that. He's good at it, and enjoys it. How many people can say that about their job. It seriously makes me want to kick people in the teeth when they tell him he's making the wrong decision. I'll end my little rant there, and say once more that:

I am so proud of you Trevor! For your football accomplishments, for your success in your career, and for the strong, stand-up man that you are! I love you and appreciate your care for us more than I could ever express!

GOod pictures. Where did you get them from? i think I like the last one the best. His teammate is cuter and the helmet is really original. Love you.

Some random person posted them on the net. I think Trevor found them through google. I like the last one a lot too. I was confused at first! I thought you meant the last football picture! I caught on though!

You are very blest to have a husband like that. He looks amazing in those pictures, and what a way to leave while you're on top of the whole show. Does this mean that you are moving back to Saskatoon?
