Our Christmas Letter

Merry Christmas from us to you! We hope this last year has found you as blessed as we have been this year. We have had an eventful year, as can be expected with a busy toddler around.

Chloe has grown in leaps and bounds! As far as she is concerned, I would classify this year as the 'Year of the Big Girl'. She is very quick to classify things as baby things and big girl things. We started off the new year by moving Chloe out of her crib and into a big girl bed. She loves it, especially when her Daxie gets to sleep with her too! She started off the year with about 20 recognizable words in her vocabulary. Now there is only one word that truly describes her: Chatterbox! She talks in full sentences, and only seems to stop when she's sleeping, or watching Treehouse! She is a little girl in every sense of the word! She loves her babies, dancing, shopping, and most recently, dressing up. She is a funny little girl, who definitely brightens our life!

Trevor has been very busy this last year with work, football and school and has been very successful on all fronts. He finished his first year of school off strongly and with a sense of direction for his future. Knowing that direction has prompted him to leave the academic scene behind him and focus on building his drywall company. He has been kept quite busy with his work and is enjoying the sense of accomplishment he gets from it. He also had a big year in football this year, with his team taking home the top honour in CIS football, the Vanier Cup. While he didn't get to play as much as he wanted early in the season, he was an important part of the games that mattered.

I was kept very busy at home with my girl. I have had many wonderful moments with her baking, coloring, and playing. We have also enjoyed a few trips back to Saskatchewan to visit, although they have been less frequent since Chloe turned two and no longer flies for free. I have also enjoyed having my best friend from Bible school move close by this summer. It has been fun to reconnect and resume our friendship.

We already have some big things in store for us in the coming year, and are looking forward to what will come.

To recap, here are some favorite pictures from the year of the big girl:

Chloe with my Grandma and Grandpa when we were visiting.
Chloe being cute in her big girl bed the day we set it up.
Chloe enjoying her spaghetti.
Chloe finding the blocks the Easter Bunny left her for Easter.
Checking out the bears with Daddy on one of our many trips to the zoo.
Another picture at the zoo.
Picking rocks at the beach.
Daddy's little biggest fan!
Having fun at Daddy's football game.
Eating her Birthday cake at our Thanksgiving celebration with our friends
Dressed up as a clown for her first time out trick-or-treating.
Chloe's potato head portrayal of our family.

And now, I leave you with our warmest Christmas greetings, and wishes for a wonderful and blessed New Year. So, from our family to yours, Merry Christmas!

It sounds to me like next year could be as exciting as this year has been. Maybe next year will also see another baby???
