This girl!

I realized that it's been a while since I a)posted, and b)posted about this girl! So now it is time to remedy both situations!

This girl is wonderful! She usually wakes up happy and definitely lights up our lives! She is already in love with her little sister. About a week ago, she got to feel Lorelei kick for the first time and now, when I'm sitting on the couch, will come up to me, lift my shirt and put her hand on my belly. Most times, she pretends that she feels something, and then she proceeds to snuggle with her sister. The snuggling is usually accompanied by a song made up just for Lorelei. My favorite so far was this, repeated over and over until Lorelei was actually asleep, "Lorelei, I love to see you growing in my mommy's tummy".

She is also keeping us in stitches. The good laughing ones, not the bad hospital ones!

My parents are doing some pretty major renovations to their house right now. They knocked down the wall separating the kitchen and living room. When Chloe walked into the house the other day she couldn't quite figure out what had happened. So she asked my Mom!

Chloe: Amma, why are all your chairs in the kitchen?
Amma: I don't know. What happened to my living room?
Chloe: Ummm, I think Gramps did something to it.

Last night at Mom and Dad's she pulled another couple of moments out of her hat!

We were all sitting at the table playing cards and suddenly, out of nowhere, Chloe walks up and sets an orange in front of my Dad.

Dad: What's this?
Chloe: An orange.

Once we quit laughing at this little exchange, Dad asked what it was for and she very matter-of-factly explained that he was supposed to peel it so he could eat it and share some with her.
The best one was when she was waiting, I think for my Mom to come and help her color and my Dad told her she had to be patient. She very quickly answered him with, "Gramps, this kid doesn't do patience!" I think we all just about peed ourselves laughing!
She is also entering into the bossy phase of her preschool years. Hopefully it will be short lived because it is really hard to keep a straight face and reprimand her when she tells Daddy that he didn't stop at a stop sign and he better make sure he stops at the next one because that's what stop signs mean! Or when she tells Daddy that he better watch his attitude!

Yep, three and a half is definitely fun and we are enjoying almost every minute of it!

I love three-year-olds. And two-year-olds. And... I just love all of them really, I'm so glad I'm having another.

Is it Lori-lie or lori-lee, how do you pronounce it?
